Trend Research
2016 Inspires My 2017
This is the trend research that inspired my designs and ideas throughout my portfolio. I am attracted to the self-proclaimed styles, unique patterns and loud events that you may see these beautiful people strut in.
Super.Select -3
I admire her bold cultural pride. The colors and patterns speak loudly. I also loved the delicate details in her outfit such as her jewelry coordination, hair accessories and make up.
Xuly Bët Fashion Week
Loved the traditional wax-printed fabrics used. The colors were all so vibrant and the patterns were equally prideful. I was especially attracted to the green and style of this look.
Strut Outside of Cushnie et Ochs
The material of this fabric gives off such a great shine and drapes so well. This random guest wears it well and accessorized wonderfully. I loved the way the jumpsuit lays across her body seemingly comfortably. The black in the daytime made me think of sophistication and purpose with class. The look isn't too revealing and fits well.

J.Crew Guests - Fashion Week
The color schemes caught my eye immediately then I noticed the lovely details in both of the outfits. I love the hot pink pant suit and the rebellious black and white outfit. Both looks are edgy and neat. I appreciate style with personality.
MoodBoards
Dark Romance

The dark and romantic vibe I created with this mood board helped me further envision some special elements for my designs. The variety of textures and sense of sophistication are what I adore most.
Warm Neutrals

A polar look of similar sophistication but with warmer tones. I was inspired by a businesswoman where this board would suit a more professional environment. The deep rich reds in desert sands and warm undertones of the skin influenced my choice of color scheme.

Spring Showcase Illustrations 2017
This year my theme for Showcase is 30's & 40's Pin-Up culture, embracing femininity, and your curvy physique. I wanted to focus on petite and curvy women. The color scheme is mainly Crimson, Black and White.

Pin Me Up StoryBoard
Similar to a MoodBoard, the StoryBoard includes the color palette/swatches I intend to use, the designs I illustrated and the overall achieved look I aspire to create. I was inspired by the renowned Scandal series for the chic office-look, as well as the flattering Pin-Up trend that encourages femininity and curves. I also named the colors after selected vintage Black Pinups.

Kaledo Weave with Colorways
Kaledo Weave is a software program that I learned to utilize for fabric pattern designing. In this particular swatch set, I designed a plaid with tight and loose directions. Being a huge fan of plaid, it was hard to narrow down an outfit that would compliment the pattern.

Spec Sheet with Outfit & Colorways
My Spec Sheet includes a pattern I used from Spandex House. The process to create this look included editing the direction and color palette to my liking. I really enjoyed the outcome and designing a pair of pants to fit the pattern was extremely satisfying. I will use this as an inspiration for a future project.

Visual Merchandising & Display - 2/3
while taking this course I learned how important the details are in coordinating a window display theme. It was an unforgettable experience that I hope to have again.

Sustainable Fashion Wrap Skirt - Front
In Sustainable Fashion I researched methods on how to create more sustainable, ethical and economical decisions in patterning, construction and merchandising. The fashion industry has a huge impact on the environment and I got to exercise a method that minimizes waste when constructing a garment. The pattern for this skirt is all triangles with the waist band as an exception.

Wrap Skirt - Back
The back of this garment is snapped in place and depending on ones own size, they can snap further down the waist band to fit. Admittedly, the skirt may be a few inches too short for comfort for some, but that can be easily resolved. The thing I like most about this skirt is that the wearer can arrange it to snap on the hip, front as well as tie the waistband for a more personalized look.
